How to Type WhatsApp Messages by Voice in 10 Indian Languages
· WhatsApp, Indian languages, dictation, mobile
Voice notes are easy to send and hard to receive. Nobody wants a four-minute audio message in a group of thirty people. Dictating text solves both sides: fast to write, fast to read, searchable later.
The three-tap method
- Open the dictation page for your language and tap record
- Speak the whole message, ignoring punctuation
- Tap AI Cleanup, then Copy, then paste into WhatsApp
On Android and iPhone the whole flow takes less time than typing two lines in Devanagari.
Add it to your Home Screen
In Chrome tap the menu → Add to Home screen. In Safari tap Share → Add to Home Screen. It then opens full screen in one tap, like an app, with no install.

Making messages read well
- Speak in complete sentences with a short pause at the end of each
- Say the recipient's name at the start so the greeting is already there
- For a formal message, use the message or email structure option before copying
- Read it once before sending — dictation errors are usually one wrong noun, and they are obvious
Group announcements
For society notices, school circulars and cooperative announcements, dictate the content and reformat it as a short list. Lists get read; paragraphs get scrolled past.
Why not just send the voice note?
Text can be searched six months later, forwarded without re-listening, translated, and read silently in a meeting. Voice notes can do none of those things.
