Free AI Meeting Notes in India (2026) — Tested Workflow
· meeting notes, AI transcription, free tools, India
Most Indian teams still write minutes by hand hours after the call ended. AI meeting notes remove that step entirely — record, upload, read once, circulate. Here is the workflow, tested on Hindi, Hinglish and English meetings.
The five-minute workflow
- Open Meeting Mode and pick the language that carries the sentence structure.
- Record in the browser, or upload an existing MP3, WAV, M4A, WebM or MP4 file.
- Wait for the transcript — long recordings are split into segments automatically.
- Read the generated summary, key points, decisions and action items.
- Fix names and deadlines, then export as TXT, Markdown or Word and circulate.
What the free plan includes
The free plan covers two meetings a month, up to twenty minutes each. That is enough to test the output on your own audio before deciding. Beyond that, the paid plans remove both the meeting count and the length cap. See pricing.
Why owner extraction fails (and how to fix it)
AI can only assign an owner if a name was spoken. "We'll get that done by Friday" has no owner. Say "Rahul will send the deck by Friday" and the action item comes back complete. Train the meeting, not the model.
Hinglish meetings
Indian meetings switch languages mid-sentence. Select Hindi when the grammar is Hindi; English technical terms are kept as spoken. The summary is written in the same language as the transcript, so if you need English minutes from a Hindi meeting, dictate a short English wrap-up at the end of the call.
Audio that produces good notes
- Phone at the centre of the table, not in front of one speaker
- On video calls, record on the device playing the call or use a headset
- Say each agenda item aloud before discussing it — it gives the summary structure
When to pay
If you run more than two meetings a month that anyone else has to read, the paid plan pays for itself in the first week of not writing minutes.
